Veteran actor Rajinikanth has been admitted to the Hyderabad hospital. ‘Severe fluctuations’ have been documented in his blood pressure.
A statement from Apollo Hospitals read, “Mr. Rajnikanth has been admitted to the hospital this morning. He’s been shooting a movie in Hyderabad for the last 10 days. A few people tested positive for Covid-19 on the set. Mr. Rajnikanth was tested for Covid-19 on 22 December and was negative. Since then, he has isolated himself and been closely monitored.”
Although he had no symptoms of Covid-19, his blood pressure showed severe fluctuations and required further evaluation for which he has been admitted to the hospital, the statement continued. In the hospital, he will be closely investigated and monitored until his blood pressure settles down before he is discharged. He has no other symptoms, apart from fluctuating blood pressure and fatigue, and is hemodynamically stable.
Rajinikanth was shooting in Hyderabad for his Tamil film Annaatthe. After eight crew members tested positive for the coronavirus, the shooting had to be halted. In a recent interaction with reporters in Chennai, Rajinikanth revealed that nearly 40% of the shooting remains to be completed. Rajinikanth will be seen playing a caring brother in the movie. His sister plays Keerthy Suresh.
Rajinikanth took to Twitter earlier this month to reveal he is finally ready to take a long-delayed political plunge. In a brief statement, he said that his party would be non-corrupt, honest, and transparent. He also said they were going to win the next election. He went on to add that his decision to launch a party in Tamil Nadu was to bring about change. If he succeeds, he said, it will be the success of the people.
