He’s also collaborated with director Jayaraj on screenplays for a few films. Deshadanam, Karunam, Safalam, Gaurishankaram, and Makalkku were among the films for which he wrote scripts. For his screenplay for Jayaraj’s Karunam, he received the National Film Award for Best Screenplay in 2000. Pothen Vava, Vadakkunnathan, Agninakshatram, Kaatuvannu Vilichappol, Karunam, Agnisakshi, Chithrashalabham, Deshadanam, Aaramthampuran, and Ashwatthamavu are some of the films in which he has appeared.

With the support of the BJP, he ran for Assembly in Kodungallur in 2001. In Madamp Mana, Kiralur, Thrissur district, he was born on June 21, 1942.
