After his health condition reportedly worsened, former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi on Saturday. Lalu Prasad, 72, was being treated for multiple ailments at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi and airlifted to Delhi.

After his health condition allegedly worsened, former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi on Saturday night (January 23, 2021).
At the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi, Lalu Prasad, 72, who was convicted in fodder scam cases, was undergoing treatment for various ailments.

The condition of the former Bihar Chief Minister will be monitored by a team of doctors.
For the last two days, Lalu Prasad has had breathing difficulties. He was found to have pneumonia on Friday. In view of his age, we decided to move him to AIIMS-Delhi on the advice of effective health doctors,’ said Dr. Kameshwar Prasad, RIMS Director.

On Friday, after being informed of the deteriorating health of the veteran leader, Lalu Prasad’s wife Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharti, sons Tej Pratap, and Tejashwi reached Ranchi on a special plane.

On Friday night, the family met Prasad after Tejashwi told reporters that the condition of Lalu was worrisome.

In order to transport him to Delhi, Lalu’s family sought the assistance of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the government of the state.
