On Sunday, Lok Sabha spokesman Om Birla paid tribute to the victims of the 2001 terrorist attack on Parliament.
Om Birla tweeted, “My humble tribute to personnel from police and Parliament who lost their lives on this day in 2001, in a bid to protect the House. Their loyalty and valour will continue to inspire us and further strengthen our resolve to fight against terrorism,”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute earlier today to those who sacrificed their lives during a terrorist attack. He said the country will never forget the 2001 “cowardly attack” on our Parliament.
On 13 December 2001, five heavily-armed terrorists belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist organisations stormed the New Delhi Parliament Complex and opened fire indiscriminately.
Around 14 people were killed in the attack, mostly security forces and one civilian.
Around 40 minutes after Parliament was adjourned, the terror strike took place and about 100 members were present in the building.
