Haryana’s schools will reopen on July 16 for classes 9 to 12

The Haryana government declared on Friday (July 9) that schools for Classes 9 to 12 will resume on July 16 as a result of the decrease in COVID-19 cases. Officials informed PTI that pupils in Classes 6 to 8 will be allowed to return to school from July 23.

With their parents’ approval, youngsters will be permitted to attend school. However, pupils will not be required to attend school because online classes will continue, according to the spokeswoman.

Students will be summoned to school while following COVID-19 protocols to the letter. “For pupils coming to the schools, social separation and other norms will apply,” the spokeswoman stated. There has yet to be a determination on whether or not physical education sessions for pupils in grades 1 through 5 will be resumed.

On Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar remarked that a plan should be put in place to reopen educational institutions while adhering to the COVID-19 norms to the letter. “Given the decrease in COVID-19 cases, a plan should be put in place to reopen the schools as soon as possible,” he stated.

Haryana announced on July 4 that the lockdown will be extended until July 12 and that more relaxations would be allowed.

According to the Health Department’s daily statement on Friday, 57 new illnesses brought the total number of cases to 7,69,205. COVID-19 claimed the lives of nine people, bringing the total to 9,534. There are now 993 active cases in the state, with 7,58,678 persons who have recovered.
