Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone on Monday for Varanasi’s various development projects, including those related to agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure. The overall cost involved in these projects is Rs 614 crore, according to the Prime Minister’s office.

The prime minister also interacted through video conferencing with some of the beneficiaries of these projects during the event.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh was present on the occasion.

The projects launched include the upgrading of the Ramnagar Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, sewage-related works, cow protection, and conservation infrastructure facilities, a player housing complex in Sampurnanand Stadium, a multi-purpose seed storage facility, and a Sarnath Light and Sound show.

The prime minister also laid the foundations for projects during the case, including the renovation of Dashashwamedh Ghat and Khidkiya Ghat, barracks for the PAC police force, the renovation of the multi-purpose hall in Girija Devi Sanskritik Sankul, road repair work in the city, and the development of tourist places.
