The Ministry of Earth Sciences has announced that a total lunar eclipse will occur on May 26 with the ending visible for a brief period of time from the north-eastern parts of India, West Bengal, and Odisha, as well as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
According to ANI, the eclipse will be visible in a region that includes South America, North America, Asia, Australia, Antarctica, the Pacific Ocean, and the Indian Ocean.

At 3:15 p.m., the partial eclipse will begin, followed by the total eclipse at 4:39 p.m. At 4:58 p.m., the total phase will end, while the partial phase will end at 6:23 p.m. On November 19, 2021, India will witness the next total lunar eclipse.
The lunar eclipse will be partial. The partial phase of which will be visible for a brief period of time just after moonrise from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam’s extreme north-eastern regions.
When the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon on a full moon day and all three objects are aligned, a lunar eclipse occurs.
When the entire Moon is eclipsed by the Earth’s umbral shadow, a total lunar eclipse occurs, and when only a portion of the Moon is eclipsed by the Earth’s umbral shadow, a partial lunar eclipse occurs.
