India records 44,111 new COVID cases and 738 deaths, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,96,05,779

In the last 24 hours, India has seen 44,111 new instances of the novel coronavirus, including 738 deaths. The Union Health Ministry announced on Saturday that the country had 57,477 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery to 2,96,05,779. According to the data, the overall number of COVID-19 cases in India has reached 3,05,02,362, with 4,95,533 active cases. The country’s death toll has now reached 4,01,050 people.

Vaccinations have been administered to a total of 34,46,11,291 persons across the country.

Last year, India’s COVID-19 total surpassed 20 lakh on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16 of the previous year.

On September 28, it surpassed the 60 lakh milestone, then the 70 lakh mark on October 11, the 80 lakh mark on October 29, the 90 lakh mark on November 20, and finally the one-crore mark on December 19.

According to the Delhi government’s immunisation bulletin issued on Friday, a total of 18,36 644 persons in the national capital have received both doses of the Covid vaccine.

So far, the city has given out 80,51,352 vaccines, with 62,14,708 of those being first doses.

On Thursday, a total of 1,57,719 persons were vaccinated, with 1,25,761 receiving the first dosage and 31,958 receiving the second, according to the bulletin.

The first dosage of the Covid vaccine was given to 1,08,586 people in the 18-44 age range on Thursday, while the last dose was given to 2,657.

The first dose was given to 16,790 people over 45, and the second dose was given to 27,733 people over 45.
