Three new smartphones have just been introduced by Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand: the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 9 G, and Redmi Note 9 4G. The Redmi Note 9 series are mid-rangers, like a 120Hz display, 108MP quad rear cameras, and Snapdragon 750G chipset, that come with almost premium specs. In China, the trio was announced. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is headlined by a premium display with a 16MP selfie shooter, a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 back, and a 5G SA/NSA connectivity Snapdragon 750G chipset.
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G
With an impressive 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G comes equipped with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ LCD display. It has a 3-dimensional liquid cooling system, so it won’t heat up the device.
The multi-camera system consists of a 108MP camera + 8MP 120 ° ultra-wide cam + 2MP depth + 2MP macro sensor when it comes to imaging. Placed under a notch is a 16MP selfie camera. A 4820mAh battery with a 33W fast charging technology is also powered by the device.
Prices for the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G: 6 GB + 128 GB (1599 yuan/$243), 8 GB + 128 GB (1799 yuan/$274) and 8 GB + 256 GB (1999 yuan/$304).
Redmi Note 9 5G
The Redmi Note 9 G, as described, is powered by the Dimensity 800U chipset from Mediatek. At 6.53-inches, its display is slightly smaller but still with the same Full HD+ LCD display and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Other features include 6 GB of 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB or 256 GB of onboard storage, expansion of the memory card, 3.5 mm audio jack, stereo speakers, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and an 18W fast charging 5000 mAh battery. It runs with MIUI 12 on Android 10.
The triple camera system consists of the following: 48MP f/1.79 aperture rear camera and LED flash + 8MP 118-degree ultra-wide f/2.2 aperture sensor + 2MP f/2.4 aperture macro camera. There is a front-facing 13MP camera, too. Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Dual 4G VoLTE, and 5G SA/ NSA connectivity are also on the phone.
Prices for Redmi Note 9 G: 6GB + 128GB (1299 yuan/$198), 8GB + 128GB (1499 yuan/$228), 8GB + 256GB (1999 yuan/$258).
Redmi Note 9 4G
With its 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD screen and 400-nit brightness, the Redmi Note 9 4G is comparable. It only comes with protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and a Snapdragon 662 chipset. It comes with RAM of 4 GB, 6 GB, or 8 GB plus 128 GB or 256 GB UFS 2.2 storage, and a larger battery of 6000 mAh.
The setup of the triple rear camera is nearly the same: 48MP + 8MP 118° ultra-wide sensor + 2MP depth sensor. With an f/2.0 aperture, the 8MP front camera is available. The same stereo speakers, 3.5mm audio jack, IR sensor, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5, and Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz) are also available on the MIUI 12 Android 10-powered smartphone. It offers 4G support only.
Prices for Redmi Note 9 G: 6 GB + 128 GB (999 yuan/$152), 6 GB + 128 GB (1099 yuan/$167), 4 GB + 128 GB (1299 yuan/$198), and 8 GB + 256 GB (1499 yuan/$228).
The 5G phones will be available starting December 1, 2020, in China. The 4G Redmi Note 9 is up for sale now.
