WI vs SL: Kieron Pollard hits six sixes in a single over, becoming only the second player in T20Is to do so after Yuvraj Singh

Kieron-Pollard-6-sixes

In the history of T20I cricket, Kieron Pollard became only the second batsman to hit six sixes in an over. In the first T20I against Sri Lanka in Antigua, he achieved the feat.

Off Akila Dananjaya, West Indies captain Pollard smashed six sixes. Dananajaya also claimed a hat-trick in the same game, dismissing Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle, and Nicholas Pooran in quick succession.

In the match’s sixth over, Pollard hit six sixes. On 38 of 11 deliveries, he was eventually dismissed.

Dananjaya had scored a hat-trick in his previous over when Pollard arrived at the crease. The Windies captain, on the other hand, was unfazed and attacked the Sri Lankan spinner right away.

He smacked Dananjaya all over the park, and after hitting the sixth six of the over, he turned toward the dressing room and bowed to his Windies teammates, who stood up and applauded their captain’s masterclass.

Prior to Pollard, Yuvraj Singh of India was the only player to hit six sixes in international T20. In 2007, he accomplished the feat by slamming Stuart Broad for 36 runs in an over in a group match during the inaugural T20 World Cup.

Pollard is the third player in international cricket history to hit six sixes in an over. In the 2007 ODI World Cup, Herschelle Gibbs of South Africa became the first cricketer to achieve the feat, scoring 36 runs in an over against the Netherlands.
