Republic Day: 38 Police Medal Awarded by Delhi Cops

For their services, thirty-eight Delhi police officers were awarded a police medal, officials said. On the occasion of Republic Day, 17 were awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG), 3 President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, and 18 Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

In 2018, DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav and his special cell team, including Inspectors Prabhat Kumar Pankaj, Pankaj Kumar; Sub-Inspectors Krishan Kumar, Neeraj Kumar Sharma; Head Constable Gurdeep Singh, for putting the criminal Kranti Gang under control in the Delhi NCR, was awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry.

Yusuf Khan, a suspected ISIS terrorist, was arrested by a team led by DCP Pramod Singh Kushwah with ACP Hridaya Bhushan, SI Sandesh K, and ASI Bhupender Kumar in September of last year, and heavy ammunition was recovered. The Police Medal was awarded for Gallantry to them.

The PMG was awarded to DCP Pramod Singh Kushwah and Inspector Vinod Kumar for arresting three ISIS terrorists in January last year in Delhi.

After an operation of 11 days in 2018, DCP G Ram Gopal Naik, ACP Rajesh Kumar, Inspector Vinay Tyagi, and Constable Kuldeep Singh will receive the PMG for rescuing a five-year-old child from a Delhi businessman.

The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service has been given to Special CP Neeraj Thakur, ACP Ritambra Prakash, and SI Suresh Kumar.

The recipients of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service are DCP Rajesh Deo, DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Additional DCP Rajendra Prasad Meena, ACP Anil Sharma, Inspectors Manish Joshi, Vinod Narang, Pratibha Sharma, ASIs Rekha, and Mahabir Singh.
