Following the launch, these locations will be gradually increased to protect all health facilities in the state. It is expected that in the next 15 days all healthcare professionals in the state will be vaccinated,” an official statement said on Friday.
A second vaccination shot has to be administered 28 days after the first shot.
In the next stage, frontline workers such as police, municipal employees, revenue employees will receive the vaccination.
AP received 4.7 lakh doses of Covishield from the Pune-based Serum Institute of India and 20,000 Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech doses of Covaxin, according to officials.
4.7 lakh doses have already been distributed to 332 places in the districts where they will be given.
Six staff members will work at each of the 332 designated locations to vaccinate 100 beneficiaries per day, supervised by a physician.
The declaration stated that “Total 2,324 staff would be working to vaccinate a maximum of 33,200 health care workers per day,”
Text messages were sent to beneficiaries of the vaccine.
Three rooms, a vaccination room, a waiting room and an observation room have been organised at each location.
‘Pregnant women, those under the age of 18 and those with any contraindication to any vaccine should not be vaccinated,’ the statement added.
It is expected that Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will observe the vaccination at the Vijayawada centre.
