On 10 January each year, the world is observed to mark the significance of Hindi as a global language. This day commemorates the world’s first Hindi conference organised by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975, also known as ‘Vishva Hindi Divas’.
Hindi is one of the world’s most widely spoken languages and has a rich history, so it’s important to make this beautiful language known to the world, so we celebrate World Hindi Day. Here, we would like to mention that in 2006, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh first celebrated the first World Hindi Day or Vishva Hindi Divas.
Different events and functions are organised on this special day to promote Hindi as a language throughout the world. However, because of the coronavirus pandemic, the celebration of World Hindi Day has taken a hit this year.
