On Saturday, their home was searched amid a widening investigation into drug usage in the entertainment industry, which started with investigations into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Bharti Singh on Saturday after the recovery of ganja (cannabis) from her residence in the suburban Andheri, Sources said.

In the morning, as part of its investigation into suspected drug usage in the Hindi film industry, the NCB raided Singh’s house and office.

Now Today Comedian Bharti Singh’s spouse, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, has been also arrested by the anti-drug agency NCB after 15 hours of questioning.

A team headed by Sameer Wankhede, the zonal director of the Central Agency, conducted a search based on a tip-off at Singh’s house at Lokhandwala Complex as well as her production house, a statement said.

During the search, they recovered 86.5 grams of ganja.

Up to 1,000 grams of ganja is considered as small quantity, receiving a prison sentence of up to six months and/or a fine of Rs 10,000.

20 kg or more will is considered as Commercial quantity possession quantity and will attract up to 20 years in jail.

The sentence for the number in between will be as much as 10 years in prison.

More than 25 people have been arrested in the past two months, including actors such as Preetika Chauhan, Australian architect Paul Bartel, film producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s wife Shabina Saeed, and South African national Agisilous Demetriades.
