Officials claimed on Saturday that a stampede provoked by a large crowd of devotees at the famous Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir killed at least 12 persons and injured 20 more. 1st of January, 2022.

According to officials, the stampede was sparked by a large influx of devotees who had come to pay their respects to mark the start of the New Year.

Senior officials and representatives from the shrine board have arrived on the scene.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, expressed his sorrow over the unfortunate tragedy at the Mata Vaishno Devi temple and called with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who assured him that the administration is treating the injured.

“I am heartbroken at the tragic event at the Mata Vaishno Devi temple. In this respect.

I spoke with Shri Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of J&K. The administration is constantly working to offer treatment to those who have been hurt.

Mr. Shah wrote in Hindi, “I convey my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident.”

Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, expressed his sadness for the deaths in a stampede at the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.

“The Mata Vaishno Devi temple stampede is terrible . I extend my condolences to the families of the deceased,” Mr. Gandhi said on Twitter.
