Vivek, the actor-comedian and Padma Shri awardee has appeared in over 220 films. On Friday, it was reported that Vivek was in critical condition and had been placed on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support after suffering from ‘acute coronary syndrome with cardiogenic shock.’
According to a statement issued by the SIMS Hospital on Friday, Vivek was brought to the hospital’s emergency ward in an unconscious state around 11 a.m.
Vivek was resuscitated by specialists in the emergency room, according to the hospital. He then had an angioplasty and an emergency coronary angiogram. The hospital described the condition as “acute coronary syndrome with cardiogenic shock.”
Cardiogenic shock is a condition caused by a severe heart attack in which the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs.
Vivek had told his family members about his chest pain, according to the doctors.
His current medical condition has also been ruled out as a result of the Covid-19 vaccine shot he received on Thursday, according to the doctors.
